Working on a Sunday
As I would be travelling again next week I decided to work on Sunday today and clear some of the pending work. Working on a Sunday at the end of a hectic week isn’t a very appealing prospect.
I met Mr Banibrata Basu Special Commissioner of Police II (Kolkata Police) and Arindam Sil regarding project –Pronam. Many issues were discussed and finalised.
Last evening, Ms Shama Rahman, Rabindra Sangeet singer from Bangladesh, who is on a visiting Kolkata, was at my place for dinner (picture). Jogen Choudhury, Nandita Pal Chowdhury and other friends also joined in and we had a whale of a time till midnight. We discussed and chatted on many issues starting from last Thursday’s Budh Sandhya play in which Sunil Ganguly acted for the first time to who would be the next Mayor of Kolkata.
Everyone was asking Jogen da about his new political involvement and ardently listening to his political views that sure carries weight in the changing scenario of Bengal.
Today evening there is a wedding invitation to attend and a program Rafi ki Ruhaniyat atKalamandir dedicated to Muhammad Rafi. It seems I have to skip both and stay at home only. Also could not manage to attend the Bharat Nirman Award Ceremony held at the same hall yesterday.
I also got some books picked up yesterday as nothing new in stock to read. Pawan Verma’s Becoming Indian, Manilal Bhaumik’s Code Name God and Kunal Basu’s A Japanese Wife.
