Monday May 7, 2012: Last Saturday Prabha Khaitan Foundation hosted a dinner at The Conclave to mark the celebrations of One Hundred Years of Guru Jnan Prakash Ghosh.

The artistes who took part in the programme were Ajoy Chakrabarty, Ajoy Joglekar, Anindo Chatterjee, Nayan Ghosh, Prattyush Banerjee, Purbayan Chatterjee, Rashid Khan, Sanjay Mukherjee, Shankar Mahadevan, Shreya Ghoshal, Subhankar Banerjee and Yogesh Samsi.

It was an after-party event that was held at the Science City Auditorium organized by the NGO, Soul Voice Aspiration (SVA), a recently formed Trust by Kaushiki Chakraborty to promote Indian classical music and dance.

Prabha Khaitan Foundation supported this event. I missed the event at the Science City but as the host was there at The Conclave.

The event ended quite late in Science City and why not when Shankar Mahadevan and Shreya Ghoshal were on stage.

The first guests arrived for the dinner at The Conclave at 11:15 PM. Almost all the invitees were at the Science City for the performance.

I met everybody and was quite exhausted because of the two-week trip and left the dinner venue by excusing myself at about 12.30 PM.

Tomorrow there is an event of Prabha Khaitan Foundation in which the West Bengal, Chief Minister, Smt Mamata Banerjee would be releasing the Rajasthani translation Rabindranath Tagore’s book Gitanjali. Hillary Clinton is in town and I have a strong feeling that the event may be postponed.

Let’s see what happens.
