Holi – past perfect

I am just back from a function at the Bajaj House. The invitation clearly mentioned `No colours, no gulal and no abir’. I have always been a hardcore Holi player with colours (Picture). In my childhood days I used to play with colours for five to six days continuously during Holi. Few people know that I spent my formative years in a small village in Rajasthan and had my primary schooling in a Pathshala and not in any Montessori or fancy school. I remember how I and a group of boys used to sing and dance almost a week before the Holi. Our raucous festivities would turn many heads as we went about putting colours on people at will. Those were the moments frozen in time and now here I have attended a Holi function without colours. Well everything changes with time I guess but my heart still yearns for those memorable Holi days of my childhood.
