Dinner at Long Island
August 10, New York: I just returned from Long Island which is on the suburbs of New York City. Long Island is considered to be one of the posh residential areas. I went there to have dinner with Mr K K Mehta, a prominent Indian who owns a Certified Public Accountant firm in this part of the world. Besides being a service accounting and tax consultant, he is also a hotelier.
Mr Mehta is the is the brains behind and founder of Rajasthan Association of North America (RANA). He is also looking after the North America chapter of Rajasthan Foundation and that is how we are linked.
Mr Mehta was very hospitable and we spend some quality time discussing about the challenges Rajasthan Foundation is facing and the activities to be done. We also discussed about the last visit of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and the recent visit of Rajiv Arora, the newly-appointed Vice Chairman of Rajasthan Foundation in New York.
The North America chapter is the only one that Rajasthan Chief Minister has visited so far. The Kolkata chapter visit is long due now.
I really felt at home at Mr Mehta’s house whose reputation of warmth and hospitality precedes him. He was very kind of him to drive me back to Hotel Millennium where I am staying.
