Aborto screening and celebrations at Souk
April 12, 2013: Yesterday I hosted the special screening of Abarto, the movie directed by Arindam Sil. Prasenjit, Dona Ganguly, Bickram Ghosh, Indranil, Md Selim, Parno Mitra, Ritabrato and some of the senior journalists besides the cast of the film attended the special screening that was held at the Gold Class at South City Mall.
From the South City Mall, many of us went directly to Priya Cinema for the premier of Shabdo. I liked the film which is of International standard and on a new subject which no body has thought of before.
After Shabdo I went to the Taj Bengal to attend the celebrations of Four Years of Souk along with the launch of Johnnie Walker Blue Label whisky. There are only 10 bottles in India of this and only one in Kolkata at the Taj Bengal which is priced at at Rs 31,500 plus taxes per peg. The cost of one bottle is over Rs 7 lakhs.
In a fitting tribute to its founder, the House of Johnnie Walker is launching The John Walker Blended Scotch Whisky, created from a small number of rare whiskies from distilleries that operated during his lifetime. The pinnacle of its revered BLUE LABEL marque, The John Walker would be available by invitation only.
But my day wasn’t over with Taj as I went for another work meeting from 10:30 pm to 11:30 pm.
Tomorrow Prabha Khaitan Foundation is hosting a function at the Raj Bhavan for the release of Shri Natwar Singh’s book Walking With Lions. I shall not be able to attend this event as I’ll be in Delhi to attend the IFUNA executive committee meeting.
I leave for Delhi today afternoon.
